About
Hello & Welcome!
My name is Anna Greenslade,
I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist specialised in children and young people, typically working with ages 8 to 25 years. I have extensive experience across inpatient hospital, schools, youth work, NHS and mental health organisations.
In this time, have developed particular expertise and interest in CBT for Social Anxiety, ERP for OCD, and TF-CBT for PTSD.
I want therapy to feel as non-intimidating as possible. It can seem daunting, but you don't need to have the right words or a clear plan before you arrive. We will figure it out together.
I also aim to offer a therapy where no topic is off limits; including intrusive thoughts, self harm, suicidal thoughts, shame, anger or anything that may feel difficult, embarrassing or taboo.
To me, mental health is the foundation of effective functioning in our day-to-day lives. I trained in psychological therapy, a passionate about providing a safe space for people to explore their inner worlds and feel empowered with strategies to manage difficult thoughts and feelings which life will inevitably comes with.
Like many people, I have experienced my own challenges with mental health, and I believe this lived experience complements my professional training by helping me bring understanding to my work. For my own well-being I try to engage in my favourite things; quality time with my loved ones, dog walks in nature, exercise classes, and coffee shop trips with a book.

My Approach
Adaptability
I only deliver scientifically-proven therapy techniques in line with national guidance, but I do this with attention to adapting to maturity levels, developmental differences and individual needs. This includes adapting to neurodiversity, such as Autism and ADHD. I am conscious that different ages and brains may process concepts differently, and I draw on the neuroscience of the developing brain to aid my approach.
Sincerity
I have a calm and genuine approach; understanding that starting therapy can be anxiety-provoking for children and young people. I place emphasis on normalising difficult thoughts and feelings, to feel at ease at a daunting time. It is priority to me to connect with a client on a human-to-human level, as well as a therapist-client level.
Empowerment
My approach advocates to support the child/young person to become their own therapist. I advocate self empowerment and teachings of strategies that will help the client throughout their life, not just whilst we are in therapy. My aim is for long term sustainability; supporting clients to become experts of their own minds and mental wellbeing.
